Issues with excerpt on Divi Blog

I’m having some issue with displaying the excerpt on the blog module of divi.

On the top of the linked page I used 6 differend blog modules, each displaying the last blog post of a specific category with increasing offset.

The first post (top left) will always display the excerpt, the second one won’t. Doesn’t matter which setting I select (show excerpt, excerpt length…) the result will always be the same. If I remove the excerpt in the first post, the page will show the first characters of the main content, regardless the setting.
Same goes with the second post, only it will never display the excerpt.

Now, the two posts are virtually identical, only the content varies, so I cannot possibly understand what the issue is. If I duplicate the first post it will show the excerpt so I suspect the offset is making the difference. But even in this case, why can’t I control whether the excerpt on the firt post (offset=0) is displayed?
