    Hi! I’m trying to move to GoDaddy and am running into issues. I get to the Successpage but then get this:

    mysqli_query() [function.mysqli-query]: Empty query in /home/content/j/p/o/jpolk/html/dup2/install.php on line 731

    Additionally no pages will load. I’ve submitted a ticket but thought I’d try here as well for any that may have the same issue.

    Thanks,
    Katrina

  • Just make sure you don’t keep the permission at 777 as it will leave a security hole on your server. You might ping godaddy help desk and see if they can see what settings need to be made to keep the folder as 755 and still work. It may be related to a group/owner setting in how they configure the user under which PHP runs…

    Hopefully this will save time for anyone looking to run Duplicator on GoDaddy Shared Hosting.

    I installed and ran Duplicator and it created the .sql and the installer, but would not create the zip file. I then spent 30mins on the phone with GoDaddy Hosting Support while they tried find their cheeks with both hands and a wall mirror.

    They confirmed they do not run the Zip Archive module in Shared Hosting which Duplicator needs in order to create the zip package.

    Hi tbohannon,

    Thanks for posting your findings!

    My sites are hosted by GoDaddy’s shared hosting so what tbohannon said concerned me.

    I tested it and fortunately, I was able to create a zip archive for one of my sites and install it successfully to “localhost” server. I did not do anything different or special. Strange, isn’t it?

    It might be a specific package that GoDaddy uses, if in doubt you might double check with them… I have had other people report success with GD in the past…
