    Hi!

I was migrated to a new type of server by my hosting last October. Since then, I’ve been having problems where I:
    – Get emails every now & then saying my BPS has been deactivated (even when I did nothing) and then, I have problems with site
    – I can’t log into wp-admin nor see the site as it created popups asking me to download files like admin.php, or ea-php70 etc—
    – Hosting is blaming you as a plugin even though I have no problem at all with all the other sites I manage on older type server from them… it’s only with new one and I am told, eventually, all sites will migrate to this new server.

I love BulletProof and wish to keep it. I have deactivated your plugin and so far, no more issues… but if your plugin indeed causes issues with new server at Bluehost and all sites will eventually be migrated, I figured you’d like to know so you could fix it.

My site is in dev and not available publicly yet.

Let me know if you can fix this issue.

    Thanks!!!
    Griffin

Sounds like a Mod Security problem (most likely) or maybe a php handler problem (less likely). Login to your web host control panel and disable Mod Security and see if things start working normally again. If this is a php handler problem then check your current .htaccess file for a php handler. If you see php handler htaccess code then you will need to copy that php handler htaccess code to this BPS Custom Code text box: 1. CUSTOM CODE TOP PHP/PHP.INI HANDLER/CACHE CODE

Checking on the status of this issue/problem. 3 people using the new BlueHost hosting servers have reported problems to us. No one has responded back as far as seeing if this is related to Mod Security or not. Have you tested to see if disabling Mod Security in cPanel works?

This problem “I can’t log into wp-admin nor see the site as it created popups asking me to download files like admin.php, or ea-php70 etc—” sounds like a common php handler problem. Here is a list of BlueHost htaccess php handlers > https://my.bluehost.com/hosting/help/htaccess-php-handlers

To save the BlueHost htaccess php handler permanently you would copy the php handler htaccess code to this BPS Custom Code text box, click the the Save Root Custom Code button and activate Root folder BulletProof Mode.

We have not received anymore reports about this problem occurring on BlueHost for a month so we assume BlueHost fixed whatever issues were going on with Mod Security.
