• Here are some problems I encountered while installing the plugin (v0.9.5). FYI I was trying to add a French translation to my English site.

    – I can’t find how to tell in which language a blog is. The settings screen only shows all blogs as “us-blog”s in the posts pages, and show “us” flags.
    – I tried to specify a custom URL for the French flag, but the plugin appended “/us.png” on the img=src attribute anyway. I had to set the URL to ‘https://…./fr.png#’ to make it work: while it worked on the French website, the English one remained unchanged.
    – The French site doesn’t know the English one, despite having a similar configuration/widget layout/etc.

On the other hand I tried at first to install the plugin before to turn WordPress into a multisite. I since reinstalled the plugin several times (removed the files + all ‘%msls%’ entries from my db), but I always end with the same issues.

    Thanks for your help!

Since there’s not much in my sites yet I’ll try reinstalling everything from scratch. Will update this thread then.

EDIT: Everythings seems to work now. I think the main issue was that my WordPress install didn’t allow to change the language for each site (I didn’t have a “Site language” option in the General settings).

It would be nice however to be able to have in the MLS settings screen a reminder of the active language + some tips to know how change it. Even better, it would be awesome to be able to change the language from here, as I might want to have only an English setup of WordPress with its contents in various languages.

Thank you! That’s great input. The development-status and the newer French language-files you can find here: https://github.com/lloc/Multisite-Language-Switcher

    Cheers,
    Dennis.

    Hello,

I have the same problem, how did you make “Site language” option in the General settings appear please?

I had to install another language in WordPress to make it appear.
