Issues Printing with Edge

  • I noticed this being asked a lot but when using the plugin it will work in Chrome, Firefox, and even IE. However, it doesn’t work in Edge. Generally, what you get is a blank popup with no information in that window. I’ve tried checking and un-checking different options and trying different targets to no avail.

    I noticed in the Edge Console that there is an error that isn’t showing up in other browsers. The error is:

    SCRIPT65535: SCRIPT65535: Invalid argument jquery.js (3,22899)

    This is happening on my test site. I wanted to make sure it wasn’t just me. So I tested this on the Pluginoven Test Site. So this error shows up on this page:

    So this is on a Windows 10 Home v1803 laptop using Microsoft Edge 42.17134.1.0. It should be noted the error does not seem to appear when the page loads. It appears once you click on the icon or the text link. Each time you click, it generates the above error.

    Does seem to work in Edge! I will be testing this on my site to see how it works. I’m hoping that the issue Edge seems to have with just the regular shortcode can be resolved soon.

    To further update on this. I tried the above custom example. As far as I can tell I did it correctly, but it still did not work in Edge.

    My plan for now is to use the plugin. However, below the print icon and text from print-o-matic I added my own link for Edge users.

    <a href="javascript:window.print()" >Using Edge? Click to Print.</a>

    I found this javascript and this opens up a print window. It will open a preview window in I think Chrome and Edge, but the rest of the browsers just opens the print dialog box.
