When editing Custom CSS Code, sometimes all the codes become missing after leaving the tab. In fact, the blue dot disappears after typing the first character. All generated codes and codes inputted there are gone for the same tab.

    Hey,

It sounds like this could be a theme or plugin conflict. If you don’t mind sending me temporary access details for the affected site via our secure contact form (https://themeover.com/support/contact/), I would be happy to troubleshoot this for you.

Some things you can try yourself:

    – Disable other plugins, my first guess would be any other plugin that has a code editor. If you find the source, I will try installing the plugin at my end to replicate the issue.
    – Send me the CSS you have entered into the code editor that triggers the issue.
    – In fact, you could also send me a full backup of your Microthemer settings. See Manage > Export > Download icon. You can send it to: support at themeover dot com.

Thanks, and apologies for the trouble you’ve encountered.

I’m afraid I cannot let you log into my clients’ sites, but I followed your points to try. After some testing, I can confirm it is not a conflict with the theme and plugin, as I have disabled all other plugins and used the default theme for testing and the same issue occurs.

This issue has occurred in the last few weeks in a all the sites with the latest version of Microthemer that I have been working on. The way to work around is not using the Custom CSS editor and create the codes individually. Sometimes when I delete all the codes from places other than the Custom CSS editor, the blue dot will not disappear until I delete the invisible tab that remains in the Custom CSS editor.

    Hey,

I wasn’t able to replicate this when trying random CSS properties, but once I installed the export of your settings I was able to replicate the issue. So there must be something in there that Microthemer isn’t handling properly. This is a critical issue to fix, I will work on it until I find the solution. I will update you shortly. Thanks so much for providing your test case.

OK, I’ve just released version 6.3.7.7 which fixes the issue.

In fixing another issue for speakers of non Latin languages, I accidentally introduced this bug with the custom code editor. It happens when editing selectors created before June 2021, if the selector label contains non-alphanumeric characters like dots, brackets, or Hebrew and Chinese etc.

If possible, I recommend using the History feature to jump back to the point before styles were lost as a result of using the code editor. You can then use the editor freely, so long as you’ve upgraded to version 6.3.7.7. You can upgrade BEFORE using the history feature BTW.

I’m really sorry for trouble this has caused. I feel particularly bad about bugs that cause data loss. I really hope you can restore things on the sites you were testing this on. Please let me know if there’s anything more I can do to help.

    Cheers,
    Sebastian

    Thanks, Sebastian!

    It now works perfectly!

I only lost the code that I wanted to paste, so it’s really no big deal. Thank you very much for working on it!
