• After upgrading WordPress to 4.2 Co-Authors Plus seems to be causing memory leaks and problems with upgrading other plugins for me. After deactivating this plugin, the errors and other problems disappear.

This plugin hasn’t been updated in over a year, and I’m wondering if it’s been abandoned or if there are any plans or an idea when it will be updated. It’s a shame, since it seems to be the only answer for adding multiple authors to posts.

    Any working alternatives out there?

Upon further tinkering, the problem seems to be a conflict between Co-Authors Plus and WordPress SEO plugin from Yoast.

I have the same problem. Any tricks to make both plugin working?

Actually, after even more digging, I found that after removing the Jetpack plugin, I can run both Co-Authors Plus and WordPress SEO. Since I’m not using most of Jetpack’s functions, removing it solves the problem for me, and allows me to keep using Co-Authors Plus and WordPress SEO.

I don’t have jetpack installed and i can not assign co-authors in the post

Sounds like you’ll have to hunt through your plugins, disabling them one-by-one to see which one is causing the problem. That’s how I found the Jetpack conflict. It’s a slow process, but the only way I know of to find the problem.

If you don’t find the one causing the problem, you’ll have to try and contact the Co-Authors Plus authors to see if they have any suggestions. They seem to be a little more active on Github than here.

Wish I had an answer for you.
