Issues after pushing staging to production

    Last night I pushed my totally redesigned brand new website from staging to production (with WP Staging Pro).

    1. When I logged in to Google Search Console to request re-indexing of my brand new and completely different website (on the same URL), it asked me to verify that this is my property (?). It can no longer see my Google verification file which is still there and untouched – as confirmed by the WP Staging support.

    Do you have an idea as to why this file is no longer visible to Google?

    2. Will your plugin send an updated sitemap to Google automatically and if so when?
    Because it is a completely different site now, I’d like to request re-indexing asap.

    UPDATE

    there was a bug in Google Search Console as I thought.

    I tried again ( after several unsuccessful attempts) – and finally was able to request indexing.

    I also checked the sitemap – it was read by Google today, so all is good. ??
