I am randomly having issues with accessing my WordPress site. This is happening in Google Chrome, but I have also tried my backup browser, Firefox and the issue occurs there also.

I seem to get into the site, and Dasnhboard, OK, but when I attempt to update the page the aforementioned issues appear.

Is there a way to add an image to a message? As I have a screengrab of the error message from my Google Chrome page.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi Andy!

It would be great if you could take a screenshot of the error using Lightshot or the awesome-screenshot tool.

    Thanks

Sure – here is the Lightshot link: https://prnt.sc/MocSLmKsow-u

I notice this mainly, or perhaps only, seems to happen when I paste a block of text from a Word document into the page.

When I click Update, it fails, and the rror message says I may be offline.

Okay, Could you paste the text as a plain text?

Ah, I think we may be onto the issue here.

I can see from your screenshot that you are in a different editing mode to me. From the last time I deisgend a site many years ago, IIRC there were Visual Editor and Text Editor modes.

How do I get into the mode you are using?

    Thanks!

I believe the issue is not related to the editor here WordPress has introduced the Gutenberg block-based editor since version 5.0 but anyway we can switch to the classic editor using the classic editor plugin and it will be supported until 2024.

Ah, thankyou. I can now make my Editor match that on screen.

Still leaves the issue of site inaccesibility though…

Okay, have you tried to copy and paste the content into small parts?

Is it happening on a specific page or with all the pages?

    Thread Starter andyandy

    (@androidandreas)

OK…I have istalled the Classic Editor Plugin and pasted using Plain Text Mode.

It updated OK and the site inaccesibility issue has not resurfaced as yet.

I will carry on building the site and report back if the issue crops up again.

Thanks for your help so far.

Yes, I tried Nikhil’s suggestion and now my site seems to be working OK.

    Thanks.

    Just marking as solved.

Ho hum. Marked as “unsolved” again.

The issue is back and was triggered by my adding a Contact Form to the “Contact” page and clkicking “Update”. Now I cannot access either of the pages.
