    Hi!
(Yes, i have seen the “Can’t re-import feeds” post but i couldn’t find out if this is going to be fixed soon)

New to this plugin and would really like to use it if som “minor” things are fixed. So i will ask thew following

    * As of now the only way to really delete a post is to login to the database and by hand delete it from the table. Not all users know about this and it’s a pain in the a** if you are doing design and would like to delete a post and then re-import it. To empty the trash is not enough … will this be fixed soon?

    * If importing the featured image from post and the post-source has a ad as the first image/picture this will be the featured image. Let me take an example – take a look at this url – https://www.hockeysverige.se/2015/04/26/luleajunioren-uttagen-till-vm/

The first image in this case is an ad and will be used by the plugin as featured image. Is there a work around for this issu?

Sorry for “bit*hing” about this, however, i would like to get an answer since i do like to become a user and use it.

    Hi Redhaksupport,

The first issue is a workflow we’ve implemented for protection against duplicated posts and the plugin re-importing post people REALLY want to delete, so it’s perse not a bug but a bad design at our end, we’re still trying to figure out the best way to achieve this and allow people to re-import deleted posts if they wish to.

Regarding the second issue with the ad, this shouldn’t happen with known ads platforms, we may however run into native or custom ads, and our algorithm needs to be tweaked in this case, so yes. There’s a fix for that, we simply need to tell our algorithm that the first image on that source is an AD, would you please send me the rss source feed url ? I will see what we can do.

    Hi!
Thx for answering lightning fast ??

https://www.hockeysverige.se/shl/feed/ is the url to the feed HOWEVER there is no ad in that rss feed as far as i can see BUT when you “click yourself into the post” the ad will show up.

Should i understand it like this … if I run into an issue with ads should I send the url to you or will there be a “user friendly buttun to click” in the plugin in rthe future? ??

Thx again for getting back to me with an answer – keep up the good work, i’m hooked up to this plugin!

    Hi!

    Hmmmm!

I have run into another issue … having the plugin set to use featured image from the rss feeds, my wordpress theme [ GoodNews 5.6.6 / main and 2 right sidebars ] act strange. In some of the feeds the featured images works just fins while in some others the make the 2 sidebars drop down under the main content area.

    See the following links
    https://redhawkssupport.se/manga-overgangar-bekraftade/ (this is OK)
    https://redhawkssupport.se/polisen-filmsnutten-bevisar-ingenting/ (NOT ok)

( This is how it shpould be )
    ————————————
    main content | SIDEBAR 1 | SIDEBAR 2
    ———————————–

( This is how it ends up every now and then )
    ————————————
    main content
    SIDEBAR 1 SIDEBAR 2
    ———————————–

If i set the plugin NOT to use featured image and add the category image instead the problem is gone. So for now i have set the plugin not to use the featured image.

Thanks for the head up redhawkssupport and sorry for the delay of my follow up,

It looks like a css issue, would you mind using a plugin to resize your featured images to fit in the area, I suspect some featured images to be way too big for the space offered and the plugin tend to import all the raw images as they are, I wish I could recommend a specific plugin for that but I haven’t tested any of them so…..any recommendation folks !?

We could technically do this in the backend, but each website uses different templates with different width for the content column area as well as for the featured image, and normally templates tend to resize the image to fit in, on the fly….

I wish I could do more at the plugin end but this will bring more issues than it can solve at the moment. I will suggest to shoot the author of the theme a short note and ask if he has a patch for that.

    Thank you,

Hi and thx for the answer!

Can you please advice about what plugin you recommend for this “issue”. The best would be to auto-resize within feedsapi but thats not an option.

Any eta for the feature about deleting posts with a “click” so we don’t have to mess around in the DB tot be able to reimport feed?

Regarding resizing, I will look around and run some tests , will get back to you asap. Keep it coming and thanks a bunch for your input. ??
