    Greetings,

    Some time ago I got a new domain as well as an SSL certificate. After setting it all up and getting it to run, I wanted to see if I need to update anything in SmartCrawl. I started a new checkup but I got this message:

    Your request timed out

    I checked the support forum and found a similar thread but the solutions posted there didn’t help. My robots.txt file seems ok, when I verified it with online tools.

    I tried to do a few checkups again after 24 hours or so (I don’t use PRO) but I still get the same message. Moreover, it seems like the plugin wants to do the checkups itself, as when I look at the dashboard I get new dates of the last check (and I didn’t try myself).

    Please, let me know if you need any more information.
    Regards,
    Lalwende

    Hello @lalwende

    Hope you’re doing well!

    If you have security plugins. please, temporary deactivate them and try to run a new scan with SmartCrawl. If all is well, please whitelist SmartCrawl IPs:

    35.171.56.101
    45.55.78.242

    It is possible that server’s firewall may block SmartCrawl pings, please whitelist these IPs on a server level too.

    If the issue still persists, please enable debug mode by adding following lines in to the wp-config.php file:

    define( 'WP_DEBUG', true );
    define( 'WP_DEBUG_LOG', true );
    define( 'WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY', false );

    Reproduce the issue again and look for a debug.log file inside the /wp-content/ directory. Let us know if there will be any errors.

    Please advise,

    Cheers,
    Nastia

    Greetings,

    Thank you very much for your reply. I use WPMU DEV Defender, should I deactivate it as well? Or adding the above-mentioned IPs would be enough?

    Regards,
    Lalwende

    PS I cannot try to do the checkup yet, I will reply with new post after I attempt to do it.

    Thank you very much for making a new version! The results are now visible although I haven’t done any new tests. When I clicked on the SmartCrawl checkup the new test’s results were already shown (with the latest checkup date – today).
