• I noticed yesterday that elements of the WordPress admin area had changed with out any explanation as far as I can tell.

Firstly the login page has lost most of it’s styling

Also when hovering over the menu items they no longer open on hover over instead you need for example go to the widgets page you would first need to select appearance to open the menu to then go to Widgets.

The widgets page itself isn’t displaying correctly Widget Screenshot

Since these issues started I have tried disabling all plugins and reinstalled the WordPress files, has any one got any other ideas I can try?

edit – some additional infromation, I am using WordPress multi-site install and this issue is occurring across all sites.

Do you have any hotlink protection in your .htaccess?

I had various security things in the .htacess but when I switched to the default WordPress multisite version of the .htaccess and the problem continued.

I have deactivated all plugin and themes, when in the error console all I can see is

Consider using ‘dppx’ units, as in CSS ‘dpi’ means dots-per-CSS-inch, not dots-per-physical-inch, so does not correspond to the actual ‘dpi’ of a screen. In media query expression: print, not all, (-webkit-min-device-pixel-ratio: 1.25), (min-resolution: 120dpi) widgets.php:28

Wow, this is still happening after a month?

I presume you’ve tried the normal ‘turn off all plugins’ steps? And a manual upgrade of the core files, complete with a flush of your browser cache?

Hi I’ve done the plugins, but I just noticed that since I upgraded to WordPress 4.0 and the mdeia section updated it is actually giving me an error message on that page

The grid view for the Media Library requires JavaScript. Switch to the list view.

When inspecting the page there are not any JavaScript errors in the console.

I just tried the manual upgrade deleting includes / admin and replacing it with latest version then all the indiviual files in the root but it hasn’t seemed to have helped.
