    Hi developer,

We are having issue with the latest version of the Google Analytics for WooCommerce plugin.

It happened only to a non-login user. When a user tries to add a product to the cart, it will add the product to the cart but the loading placeholder image will not disappear and it triggers the following error,

“Uncaught Error: Google Analytics for WooCommerce: Could not read product ID from the button given in added_to_cart event. Check whether WooCommerce Core events or elements are malformed by other extensions.”

Here is the screenshot – https://imgur.com/undefined

Could you please provide some solutions to help resolve the issue?

    Thank you in advance,

    Hi developer,

Sorry, but here is the correct screenshot – https://imgur.com/a/qmcMp1G

Also, with the website, we have to downgrade the plugin back to 2.1.1, so you will not see the error on the live site now.

    Thank you

    Hi @steve-8bm,

    Thank you for reaching out.

Looking at the shared error message, there might be a conflict between the Google Analytics for WooCommerce plugin and another extension on your site.

Before downgrading the plugin version, did you already try running a conflict test by having only WooCommerce and Google Analytics for WooCommerce as the only active plugins in your store? If not, I recommend trying that and check if the issue still persists.

You can try running the test on a staging site to avoid messing your live store.

Let us know how it goes.

I am still seeing this error in 2.1.8

    Hi there!

I understand your concern and appreciate you reaching out about the issue you’re experiencing, even after updating to the latest version.

To clarify, have you tried running a conflict test? It seems there might be a setting in your theme or a third-party plugin that’s conflicting with the Google Analytics for WooCommerce plugin.

If the issue persists after completing a conflict test, could you please create a staging environment for your site? On the staging site, activate the default Storefront theme, WooCommerce, and the Google Analytics for WooCommerce plugin only. Once done, share the URL of the staging site here so we can investigate the error further.

Also, Could you please send me a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Download for support” (after you scroll down a bit)”. Once done, please upload it to this chat.

    Thank you
