• Hello everyone,

I’m encountering an issue with my WordPress website following the recent update to version 6.5 on April 2nd. Since the update, I’ve noticed that PDF files I had previously uploaded are no longer accessible. Whenever I try to view them, I’m either met with errors or a blank screen.

I’m reaching out to see if anyone else has experienced similar problems and if there are any known fixes or workarounds for this issue. Any advice or assistance would be greatly appreciated.

  • Your web server always delivers the PDF file only partially. A browser cannot process this correctly. I don’t see any connection with WordPress, especially as the download happens directly and without access to WordPress components. It’s more likely that something has changed in your server settings.

    So I have 2 tips:
Have a look at your plugins to see if one of them could somehow affect the accessibility of media files. A security plugin could also be a possibility. You can also deactivate all plugins as a test.
If that doesn’t work, contact your hoster’s support.

    Hi threadi,

Thanks a bunch for your help! It seems the issue was caused by a plugin creating duplicates and storing them in nginx’s temp directory. We’ve fixed it by adjusting the permissions to allow WordPress to write to that directory. Really appreciate your assistance in figuring this out!

Nice if I could help and interesting solution. You are welcome to set the topic to solved.
