I just installed and set up the free version of Social Media Share, and included a floating menu of social share icons.. Through some trial and error I discovered that when they’re vertical and placed at the top right of the screen, you can’t click on the action that pops up because the mouse apparently reads the next icon down instead. (I only figured this out because I thought the icons just weren’t working, and tried reorienting horizontal, and then I was able to click on the “like” or “share” option that pops up when you mouse over the icon.)

I moved them to a center placement, and that fixed the problem because the actions pop up above the icon instead of below. But this is a glitch that should probably be fixed.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi Miriam, thanks for reporting this!

We couldn’t replicate the issue from our side – could you please provide a screenshot of how the floating icons look on your website when placed vertically at the top right?

Hi! I shot a video to show you the issue. You’ll see that with the Facebook icon, I was able to get the “Like” option to be clickable, although it took some doing, but when I attempt to roll over the “Share” option it defaults to the Twitter icon below it. Same thing if I try to share on Twitter or Pinterest – the mouse activates the next icon down instead of the share option. Hope this is helpful.

Thanks Miriam! Our developers are checking the issue – we’ll update you as soon as possible.

Hi Miriam! We still couldn’t replicate it, it seems to be a browser-specific issue. Could you please also let me know the browser and operating system you’re using to investigate it further? Thank you!

Hi there, I am using Google Chrome on Windows 10 Pro.

Thanks @miriamlawrence! We still can’t replicate it. However, could you please confirm if the new configuration is working fine for you now? By new configuration I mean the current location of the icons. Thank you!

As we didn’t hear any reply in last days, I can assume that you resolved the issue.

Please feel free to open a new topic if I am wrong!
    Thank you ??
