• Hello, when we updated to version 1.3, all the shortcode widgets disappeared from both the widget section of the dashboard and the live site. We have restored the site to a backup with version 1.2 and all is well. Do you know what might be causing this?

FYI – We are also using the Conditional Widgets plugin.

    Thank you!

Well, in the last update, we did refactored and re-structured the code a bit, since we can’t let the index.php be the main plugin file. The side effect of that is, when the plugin is updated, it just de-activates, since WordPress still tries to find the plugin headers in index.php.

To resolve, just activate the plugin, the widgets will be back as they were. Nothing to worry about here.

OK, will have the client try that. Thank you!

Just checking in to see, if the issue was resolved or not?

We use this plugin on a multisite network with thousands of users. We experienced this issue on our staging server and had to revert. Updating would cause every one of our users to lose their widgets from this plugin, and require them to manually go back in and activate their plugin? Is there no way around this?

You can make use of Multisite Plugin Manager plugin to activate it back on all the sites on your network after update.

If you want I can provide you with screenshots or screencast to help you out.

We actually have that plugin on our network and it’s awesome. However, again, this isn’t an ideal fix because we don’t want to auto activate this plugin on every site on our network, as many I’m sure don’t use it. For instance, if 500 or so use it and 500 or so don’t, we don’t want to force activate it on every single site.

Okay, I’ll provide you with a fix that will auto activate the plugin on only the sites where it was activated, by tomorrow.

    Hi Gagan,

Sorry that I forgot to reply. Our issue was solved with the activation. Thanks again!
