Issue with v8.1.9

  • Hey Thomas, there is an issue with your implementation of the new “Member Directory”. Inside “admin.php” on line 10/11 you used the old deprecated user levels instead of the roles and capabilities. This causes deprecation notices. Could you please revise your code and replace level 10 that you used with the role “administrator”.
    Maybe you could also consider removing the menu page in favour of the submenu page entirely or the option to disable the “Member Directory” for the people that do not use it.

    We just released wordpress tooltip 8.2.5 to fix it, changes:

    1: remove member directory menu item in wordpress dashboard

    2: in wordpress tooltips menu item, we added a directory settings sub menu item under glossary settings sub menu item

    In last month, we got many great user’s ticket in which users said they installed our member directory in 2015 and they want to upgrade to new version, and a few wordpress tooltip user requested add directory function to wordpress tooltips plugin too, that’s why we added member directory function into wordpress tooltip plugin ??

    In our development plan,? we will not only add member directory functionality for wordpress tooltip user, but also author wall, custom post type directory…etc, and we planed to add new custom post type “directory” for our directory functionality,? based on suggestions from many wordpress tooltip users, in last month, we have got many this kind of feature request ??

    But in the current time, directly add a member directory menu item, it is really easy to make users misunderstand, yes, you are right, we fixed this problem in this version and we will think about how to find a better method to add new directory function for wordpress tooltip users ??
