I definitely saved the settings. We’ve had our Twitter username in the field for a month now (since I first installed the plugin). Here is a screenshot to show the proof: https://guideinc.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/screenshot.png

i think you are using shortcode. you need to add username in twitter_username field.
