• Hello,

In Appearance -> Customize, it switches me to edit mode of the active theme. However, I found that the Publish button is ALWAYS clickable and making changes doesn’t change that.

I managed to find out that after deactivating your plugin this problem disappears.

    Please repair

    Thank you

    Hi @michalrama

    Thanks for reaching out!

Can you provide me with additional details such as:
    – The theme and version that you’re using.
    – The plugin version that you’re seeing this on.
    – Also, does the publish button save the changes?

    Hello,

    Of course

    • Theme – Blocksy 2.0.61
    • Events Calendar version – 6.6.1
    • The Publish button works correctly, it’s just still clickable.

    Hi @michalrama ,

Thank you for your message and the information.

I suspect there’s a conflict that’s causing the issue here. It would be good to test for conflicts. Could you follow the following steps?

    1. Deactivate all other plugins except for The Events Calendar Plugins.
    2. Switching to the Default theme.

Please read the Testing for Conflicts Article before doing anything.

To be safe, we’d recommend conducting tests and updates on a Staging Server. Also, please keep a working backup of your website.

    Hello @tristan083

I tested it. And no plugin is to blame. Even if I turn off all others, the problem persists. But it’s not directly related to the Blocksy theme either, because I tried Twenty Twenty-Four and Twenty Twenty-Three and nothing changed.

    Hi @michalrama ,

Thank you for your message and for taking the time to do the conflict test.

The Events Calendar is not yet fully compatible with FSE (Full Site Editing) themes like the twenty-twenty-four, twenty-twenty-three themes — see Partial Support for FSE Themes. Could you try using the twenty-twenty theme, while all third-party plugins deactivated, instead to further isolate the issue?

    Hello @tristan083

I’m sorry, this theme can be activated, but the customize page cannot be loaded. However, something else is at fault here as after disabling all plugins it still doesn’t work.

    Hi @michalrama ,

    Thank you for your message.

Just to be clear, are you saying that the WordPress customizer is still not loading even after activating the twenty-twenty theme and deactivating all third-party plugins?

Have you tried enabling WordPress’ debugging to see if something is thrown out to the debug log that could provide more information about the situation?

    Hello @tristan083

Yes, I disabled all other plugins and customize still won’t load.

The problem is in load-script.php, specifically TypeError: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading ‘setting’).

Anyway, I don’t know how this will help me with my problem?

    Hi @michalrama

I tried replicating the issue on my test site by activating only The Events Calendar plugin and Blocksy theme (free from .org), but it’s working as expected.

    See- https://share.zight.com/z8uRpR0y

Could you try updating your theme to the latest version, and see if that resolves the issue? The latest version of Blocksy is 2.0.62.

Let me know how it goes.

    Hi there,

    Hello @d0153

I’m so sorry, I haven’t had time to deal with this lately.

Anyway, I have the theme up to date (I have a plugin there that automatically updates everything)

And I found that when editing the event calendar and then publishing, the button was grayed out. However, when re-edited, it is clickable again and grayed out again when clicked.

However, the main thing is what it does on the event calendar page. It will also be grayed out there during publication. However, when I edit it again, it displays the message Something went wrong.
This changeset cannot be further modified.
From where you can click through to the editing itself.

I really don’t know what to think about it.

    Hi @michalrama

Maybe this could be related to the version of your PHP and WP. Please ensure that you’re using the updated version of WP.

If it doesn’t help, could you provide the PHP and WP versions that you’re using? I want to check it further on my end.

    Hello @d0153

    WP version – 6.6.1
    PHP version – 8.1.29

I don’t have a higher PHP version, because on Active24 (where we have them all registered), I can only have 3 different versions and we also have a domain that only has version 8.0.30 and even 7.1.33, so upgrading would require changing all domains with version 8.1.29, which is almost all of them.

Anyway, as I said, it works for another domain and it has the same version of PHP, so that won’t be a problem for sure.

    Hi @michalrama

    Thanks for your response.

I have made an attempt to reproduce the issue in PHP 8.1, but it seems to be functioning as intended. In an effort to find a solution, I conducted a search for similar issues. Have you considered installing the classic editor plugin to see if that resolves the issue?

If that doesn’t help, please try installing this plugin, and check if detect errors on your end.

Let me know how it goes.
