Issue with “Speed up images and photos,” lightbox, & SSL

    I have two sites that are identical except that one site uses a secure connection. Both sites are running Canvas theme with PrettyPhoto lightbox enabled. I know Carousel cannot work with PrettyPhoto enabled, but I’m having an issue on the secure site where the lightbox will not work if I have the “Speed up images and photos” setting turned on (regardless of whether Carousel is enabled or not). The lightbox works fine on the non-secure site regardless of the “Speed up images and photos” and Carousel settings.

    Could the problem be caused by the fact that photos coming from Jetpack’s CDN have “ssl=1” appended to their URL? That’s the only difference I can see between the two sites.

    I did receive a response from a Happiness Engineer. She agreed that the Photon-appended “ssl=1” is not compatible with the PrettyPhoto code used by the Canvas theme. She stated she would contact WooThemes about modifications to Canvas’s PrettyPhoto code to allow it to work properly with Photon, regardless of the appended ssl=1.

    She also linked to a JavaScript routine to fix the problem for now. I added the code to my site and it did indeed fix the problem. I am now able to use the Canvas theme PrettyPhoto lightbox on my secure site while also having the Jetpack Photon module enabled.

    I’m having some issues with a lighbox plugin not opening images when the ?ssl=1 is on the image link.
    I can strip the ?ssl=1 off, but this causes the images to take ages to load?
