• Hello
Thank you for your plugin, we have been pleased with it on our site so far.

We have had a number of clients report a problem in the last couple of days. They say that the page displayed thank you… then said that I had been unsuccessful but no error or reason. I can not replicate it and I can’t see any logs I can check. Is there anyway that I can trace failures such as this? There is nothing on the stripe side

    Thanks

In the stripe dashboard log the transaction shows as “200 ok” but there is no payment taken

Hi, how often does this happen in your site?

    Hi

For me, I have never seen it. I have had a client do this 8 times today failed every time and I can see other tokens in stripe where I didn’t get payments so it is happening to other people too.

In the stripe dashboard log the transaction shows as “200 ok” but there is no payment taken

I have read a few other threads about similar issues. My checkout page is

    https://www.thealpinekitchen.com/stripe-checkout-result/

And this is set in the plugin / settings (with the https)

This page does contain the shortcode

    [accept_stripe_payment_checkout]

Have you contacted Stripe support or your host?

The reason why I am asking you this is because this issue started happening now. So it means that it was working before. Something must have changed in your site, your server or your Stripe account.

I suggest you to either contact your host or Stripe support. Let them know about this issue and especially mention that it started to happen now and that it was working well before.

Let me know what they say.

    Kind regards

    Hi
Well the site only went live a few days ago so it’s all quite new.

Some payments are going through that’s what doesn’t make much sense to me

I will contact stripe and let you know

    Hello
    Stripe replied:

I looked into your account but couldn’t find any charge error, so it seems that the issue is on your website end. It’s your own server side code that would send charge API request to Stripe, but these aren’t being sent. I’d suggest contacting a developer if you need some help to fix this.

I’m sorry I can’t be of more help. If you have further questions, please let me know.

Another order failed yesterday, same issue.
How can I see logs to show that the charge API has been sent to stripe from the plugin?

Hi, I have submitted a message to the developers to investigate further your issue.

    Thank you

Thank you, what is the time frame for a reply? I had more failed orders last night (and ones that went through)

    Hi Again

Having done some testing with some clients…I think I may know the issue – I think they might be moving away from the screen after the green tick and before the check out screen

I didn’t think the wait was particularly slow but it is difficult for a user to see that something is still happening as there is nothing on the screen.

    Related to this post:

I agree that really an hour glass or similar needs to be on the screen and more obvious as otherwise, these users fall into a black hole. I don’t have many sales but it would be impossible to track if you had lots.

Do you think this could be added to the plugin? I would be happy to donate / pay

    (@doriefish)

That isn’t the issue, I just entered an order for a client on their behalf. Everything looked good, progressed to check out screen, but no payment

I have a screenshot of the log and transactions is useful

Just one question, do you have a cache plugin installed in your site? If you do did you exclude any stripe pages from being cached?

    Thread Starter doriefish

    (@doriefish)

    Yes and no.
What stripe pages should be excluded, the checkout?

Hi, I am not 100% sure but the checkout is definitely one of them. Try this and see what happens.

    Report back with any changes.

    Kind regards
