    Hi Support Team,

I am experiencing an issue with the “Conditional Fields for Elementor Form” plugin on our WordPress site. We have a form that is intended to display a select dropdown for locations specifically for ‘Agencies’ and ‘Bars’. The dropdown should only appear when either of these categories is selected by the user.

However, we’re encountering a problem where switching between these categories automatically triggers random selections in the location dropdown. This means that whenever a user changes the category, an unintended location option is pre-selected by default.

Could you please help us resolve this issue so that the location dropdown remains unselected or resets when the category is changed? This would greatly enhance the user experience by preventing confusion and ensuring users consciously choose an appropriate location.

    Thank you for your assistance.

    Best regards

    Hi @marcotettam,

One of your select dropdown fields is working with the first select field; however, there is a dropdown field that is still hidden. Perhaps that is the field you are referring to. Could you please share some screenshots of your form where you are adding conditions with our plugin? This will help me understand the situation better and provide you with a better solution. Also, please ensure that you have added the conditions properly to the selected field with the unique ID.

    Thank you.

    Hi @himanshusharma20,

Thank you for your response. To better illustrate the issue we’re experiencing with the dropdown fields, I have uploaded two videos to our shared OneDrive folder. One video demonstrates the error in action, showing how the dropdown selections change automatically when switching categories. The other video provides a walkthrough of our backend form configuration, showcasing how the conditions and unique IDs are set up.

You can access the videos via the following OneDrive link: Elementor Form Error. I believe these will provide a clearer understanding of the problem we’re facing.

Looking forward to your guidance on resolving this issue.

    Best regards

    Hi @marcotettam,

You have selected your Show/Hide field to hide; that’s why your form conditions are not working well. If you want to show your field if the condition is true, then you have to select “show” not “hide”. However, if you want to hide that field based on the condition, then you should choose the option to hide. Click here to see.

    Thank you.

    Hi @himanshusharma20 ,

Thank you for your advice. I’ve verified that our Show/Hide settings are correctly configured, the fields are indeed showing and hiding as expected based on the conditions set. However, the issue we’re experiencing isn’t with the visibility of the fields but with the second dropdown automatically having options preselected when switching between categories in the first dropdown.

Specifically, the problematic behavior is that when switching categories, an option labeled “Premium1@” appears preselected in the second dropdown. This option shouldn’t even exist in the list. It seems to be a glitch that causes random selections or incorrect data display in the dropdown.

Could you please advise on how we can resolve this specific issue of incorrect preselections in the dropdown menu?

    Thank you for your assistance.

    Best regards

    Hi @marcotettam,

I have tested this issue on our end, but everything is working fine with the select form field. There is no dummy data within my select field when changing to the select field. The issue may be related to other plugins on your site. You can try deactivating your other plugins one by one to isolate the issue. Additionally, please share your browser console logs if you encounter any errors there.

Also, if possible, you can remove the “required” attribute from your form select fields that are inside the condition. This will prevent the addition of dummy data to the form field, ensuring that your form data works correctly.

    Thank you.
