Issue with PayPal Checkout
-
Anycheck out page with any item is giving us issues with the PayPal plugin.
When a customers goes to check out- if their PP account is not properly filled out (specifically part of phone number) is not properly entered then the order will bounce back to the customer and will not allow for the customer to log out.
We have an employee that used her personal PP account (which ever thing in the account was filled out phone number included ) to see if it was truly just the phone number and she could complete checkout.
When a customer does not fill this out it will not let them checkout – they have to go to their log in PP account and enter the phone number and return to our page and complete checkout.
We want to by pass this and NOT HAVE TO enter in a number for checkout via PP because it is not a necessity to have it on our end to complete the order
We have reachout out to other forums and developers and they said to UN-install every plugin in our site and then create a staging environment to test and add and delete to see exactly if it is the PP plugin that is causing the issue but we do not know two things
1. how to effectively do that
2. create staging environmentPrior to the “update” that was released, the plugin worked just fine. We did not have this “phone number” issue. We would like to go back to the original version – BUT not sure if thats an option if the plugin they released was an update of the older version. Is it possible to go back to the older version or send a complaint that it is not working to PayPal?
Also, Can a customer checkout without having a PP account still complete an order on the website? We have found yes, they can and this will also bypass the “phone number needed” block.
We need someone to do the investigation for us. This would be a paid gig if you are a proficient enough developer and can SOLVE the issue we’d be willing to make this an ongoing relationship.
