    hi
I wanted to request re-indexing of my site in Google Search Console, and saw that they have (of course) changed it again, and even though I verified the ownership of my site LONG AGO, Google again requests site verification. Do you know why?

I chose to verify by using my Analytics tracking code – I do have Yoast SEO plugin as well as Analytifier, so there shouldn’t be any problems.

However, the verification failed, and I got this message:

The Google Analytics tracking code on your site looks malformed.

How come? How can I fix it? I’ve had this code on my site for several years, so what has happened? and also, do you have a clue as to why Google is requesting property verification AGAIN out of a sudden?

    I would appreciate your advice.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello @magicpowers

Thanks for reaching out about your Google Analytics tracking code. Unfortunately, Yoast SEO plugin does not have an option to insert Google Analytics code. We recommend contacting Google Analytics Help support.

    hi @maybellyne

    thanks for your reply.

So how does your plugin submit sitemaps to my Google Analytics? It does submit it, doesn’t it?

When I first installed your plugin, I remember I was asked to provide my property code.

    Could you please explain.

You may be mixing up Google Analytics with Google Search Console. You submit your Yoast-generated XML sitemaps to the Search Console and not Analytics.

If you are being prompted that your Google Analytics verification failed, this is not connected to the Yoast SEO plugin. So you may want to reach out to Google Analytics support.

    ok then.

this recent split of Google Analytics and Search Console is very confusing. It used to be just one platform.

    thanks
