• Hello,

    we are encountering an issue with multiple memberships and categories;

We have posts divided in several categories, let’s say A and B.

Users can be in Membership/Group ReadA as well as in Membership/Group ReadB – and some of them are intended to be in both Memberships/Groups, ReadA and ReadB.

Issue: as soon as a User is assigned to 2 or more Memberships/Groups, the user doesn’t have access to any of its groups.

Can you reproduce that? Or even fix it?

(If we try this scenario with pages instead of categories, everything works as expected.)

    Hey there C S,

    How are you doing today?

Can you please check if you have “Multiple Memberships” add-on activated? To check please go to Membership 2 -> Add-ons.

If you don’t have it active please activate the add-on and test again.

Hope this helps and have a great weekend ??

    Cheers,
    Bojan

Thanks, Bojan, for taking care of this.

Yes, we have the “Multiple Memberships” add-on activated.
As I wrote, doing the same thing with pages, it works.

    Hey again C S,

Would you mind posting screenshot of the protection rules used for this so I can try to replicate this on my end?

    Best regards,
    Bojan

    Hey Bojan,

I’d prefer to offer you an account on our dev machine; this way you can go and see everything you need, isn’t it?

    What do you think?

How can I contact you safely?

    Best
    Christian

    Hey again Christian,

Definitely is the easiest way to do it but unfortunately we’re not allowed to do that on this forum due to forum rules which you can find here.

If you’re in any way uncomfortable with posting those screenshots here you can send those through our contact form https://premium.wpmudev.org/contact/ using this template:

    Subject: “Attn: Bojan”
    -link to your site
-screenshots of the protection rules in admin
-link back to this thread for reference
    -any other relevant urls

Select “I have a different question” for your topic – this and the subject line ensure that it gets assigned to me ??

    Best regards,
    Bojan

    Hey again Christian,

It appears that you’re right and that this is a bug in the plugin as I’ve managed to recreate this on my sandbox site. Everything works fine until you add second membership to your user after which only non protected category posts are being displayed on the blog page regardless of which membership user has.

I’ve reported this to our developers so they can investigate this further and possibly fix in the following plugin update.

Thank you for reporting this ??

    Cheers,
    Bojan
