Issue with Menu with Storefront Theme

    HI

    I have been finding the Storefront theme a bit frustrating regarding the positioning of the Menu etc.

    I have used many other themes, and struggle to get the Menu where I want it in Storefront only.

    I want the Logo centered, then the MAIN MENU underneath with background colour right across, with white text, centered etc.
    I need it to be full width from left to right which seems to be difficult to achieve for me…
    I want MEGA MENU also (does Storefront have this feature) as I have many menu items and sub-categories .

    This has been difficult to achieve without doing heaps of CSS coding ..

    Doesn’t the Storefront theme have easy button to choose Logo centered, then MENU Aligned underneath (rather than to the right of the Logo) like it defaults to.

    When I go to Customise there seems to be no section to CHANGE things easily without full CSS coding … unless I am missing something here ?

    If someone could help that would be great with advice and possible coding to help.

    I have done it now with lots of CSS coding, but when I click on another MAIN MENU item like Contact Us, then on the big screen the whole menu flashes slightly like it is moving from right to left briefly

  • Posting to see what replies you get. I’ve had to plow through a jumbled heap of CSS to figure out how to customize my layout. I still have some problems with it.

    I made a centered logo by hiding the logo/site branding blocks and making a custom centered background. The background image is my logo with transparent background, so the master background color still shows through. Thus my logo appears centered and scales with the page. It’s not a link and can’t be interacted with though. It’s far from perfect, but for the moment it’s the only fix I’ve come up with.
    I haven’t tried to alter the menus themseles yet so I have no suggestions there…

    Yes I had to use Background for my logo under Customizer in Header also, the only way I could do it ..
    That’s what I did same as you. My only workaround.

    Fixing the Menu is a pain if you want it underneath and NOT to the right.

    Hi there!

    Have you tried the Storefront Powerpack extension yet? It includes the ability to customize the header (including menus) layout.

    Anyway if that’s not a possibility the header could be styled via CSS. Keep me posted if you still need help with this and include as many details as possible.
