I favor the elegant way jetpack handles comments.

My one page site shows jetpack comments and seems to funtion alright even though I need to display blog posts with such query shortcode made available by shortcode ultimate:

    [su_posts template="templates/single-post.php" id="4976" field="the_content"]

    1) Even though new comments register they won’t display. Any advice on this?
    2) Is there a shortcode to load jetpack comments other than using default wp:

    [wpsites_comment_form]?

That’s odd. Do comments work as expected via WordPress’s built-in comment system when Jetpack Comments is off?

    Hello James,
thank you for your quick rsponse.

Comments work in both instances (wp built-in and Jetzpack) for as long as I don’t refresh the page. After a refresh the comments disappear from view.

Which php files would I have to disable rocket cache for should this be the culprit?

    Thank you,
    Mark

There are quite a few plugins on your site, please try to temporarily disable all of them except for Jetpack, and switch to the default Twenty Twenty theme. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of the problem.

To make it easier, you can install Health Check. On the troubleshooting tab, you’d be able to click the button to disable all plugins and change the theme for you, while you’re still logged in, without affecting normal visitors to your site.

Let us know how it goes.

    Got it fresatomica,

Comments work with all plugins disabled and Twenty Twenty activated.
Comments keep working when switching back to the intended theme (Chaplin).
Stops workin when re-activating intended theme child theme.
    So there.

I now will take a closer look at the child theme and get back with success message and thank you – and mark this is solved.

Thank you a whole lot for your push.
