Issue with editing site hosted on godaddy

  • Hello, So I have a issue with my site, I am trying to make some changes to it, reached out to godaddy support and they walked me through ensuring I have a admin account on my Database, Then said WordPress needed to be installed onto it first before Uploading the file, Even though my file is already been uploaded, So I have WordPress installed now and My site it basically whatever I make it currently, So not sure were to upload the current website file.
    Basically currently it is held on the file manager portion and it is a sub domain of mine

    So need to know how I can upload my file to the wordpress so I can edit the files like a normal html document or like going in and click edit or customize.
    Not sure if anyone had suggestions on what All I could do. it is running on Wp 4.9.8 I am running Windows 8 as far as godaddy the most current version. Not sure if someone has experieince with this issue on godaddy and how to resolve it.

    You need to transform your current HTML site to a WordPress theme. Otherwise you won’t be able to use it with WordPress. In order to do that you need to change/create some code and create other files.

    If you are familiar with WordPress coding you could do it yourself, but if you are not I suggest you to look for someone who knows how to do it.
