    Hello,

I am currently implementing the Simple Menu widget on my WordPress site and have encountered an issue specifically when viewing it on mobile devices.

    Widget Configuration:

    • Layout: Vertical
    • Breakpoint: None
    • Purpose: I am using this menu within a pop-up and it contains multiple sub-menus.

    Issue Description:

    • Desktop View (Responsive Mode): The menu functions correctly in responsive mode on desktop. The sub-menus open as expected when their respective menu items are clicked.
    • Mobile Device View: However, when viewed on a mobile device, the sub-menu items are not functioning properly. Instead of opening the sub-menu, clicking on a menu item directly opens the top-level link associated with that menu item.

    Request for Assistance:

    • Could you advise on how to resolve this issue so that the dropdown items work correctly on mobile devices, allowing the sub-menus to open instead of directly accessing the top-level link?
    • If there’s a specific setting or workaround to ensure proper functionality on mobile, I would greatly appreciate your guidance.

Thank you in advance for your assistance. I’m looking forward to resolving this issue to ensure a seamless navigation experience for mobile users.

    Best regards,
    Stan

Update – I notice this is also an issue when using the Advanced Menu too.

    Hello again,

I’d like to provide an additional observation related to the issue I’m experiencing with the Simple Menu widget on mobile devices.

New Discovery: Upon further examination, it seems that the element containing the text might be overlapping the dropdown icon. I noticed this when I zoomed in on the mobile view and found that the dropdown menus worked correctly every time I did so.

Potential Cause: This behavior leads me to suspect that the issue might be related to the z-index of the dropdown icon/element.

    Request for CSS Code:

    • Could you provide some custom CSS that adjusts the z-index of the dropdown icon/element to ensure it is correctly layered and accessible on mobile devices?
    • Any guidance on the specific code or steps to implement this would be greatly appreciated.

I believe this adjustment might resolve the issue and ensure that the dropdowns function properly on mobile devices.

Thank you once again for your assistance and attention to this matter. Looking forward to your advice on this.

    Best regards

    Hello @stanhillalsim3

I am so sorry for the delayed response.

I have visited your website and found out that on the mobile version, you are using the Elementor popup on the hamburger icon, and on the popup, you add the EA Simple Menu. I tried to check and the submenu dropdown button works correctly, see the screencast here: https://d.pr/v/inQ7cZ

Can you please reach out to us here? It could be some plugin conflict issue you are facing. It would be a better option to check it for further investigation.

    Thank You

    Hello @stanhillalsim3,

Thank you for reaching out and providing a detailed description of the issue you’re experiencing with the Simple Menu widget on your WordPress site. I appreciate your patience and understand how important it is to ensure a seamless navigation experience for mobile users. For that reason, I have further discussed your issue with our dev team.

Before we proceed with adjusting the z-index, I would like to suggest a potential solution for the redirection issue.

When you click on the parent menu of the submenu “Products”, the page redirects and shows you the products page. This is a feature of our widgets to redirect the parent menu link if you add a link. If you don’t want this redirection to happen, you can simply add the “#” in the parent menu and it will not redirect.

Please see the screencast here: https://d.pr/v/q2Ew8y

This should prevent the parent menu item from redirecting to a new page when clicked, allowing the sub-menus to open instead.

If this doesn’t resolve the issue or if you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to let me know.

    Thank You
