I have been playing around with changing some of the CSS information.

I have Hueman installed, and Hueman Child Theme activated. Since you are not supposed to edit the styles.css file in Hueman directory, I copied this file to my Hueman-child-master directory, and did the edits there.

I changed some color values, and everything was working as expected. However at some point I noticed that the values were not longer updating as expected (if I tried to change a value from grey to black color, it would no longer change, even though it had changed from black to grey). So I figured I would just delete the styles.css file in the hueman-child-master directory and revert to the original values.

However, nothing further from the truth actually happened, and now the site is all sorts of screwed up – see https://www.coolpack.com
Can anyone help me figure out what happened, and how to revert back to what I had?

    Thanks!

A friend helped me out…turns out (I knew this, but forgot) that there already is a styles.css file in the hueman-child-master directory, so I overwrote that…just downloaded again the file from zip file and uploaded into my site via FTP and all is well again ??

Hi benromero. You don’t really need to copy the entire theme style.css file to your child theme. In fact, it’s probably better if you don’t because it’s too hard to keep track of what’s changed and what hasn’t. Normally the child theme style.css file is used to enter only those styles that you want to add, or those in the parent css that you want to override. It appears that your site is using the default theme css file as imported by your child theme style.css. Is this what you were expecting?

bdbrown – thanks once again for helping out!

Yes, I do not recall modifying/overriding any styles by modifying the styles.css file that came with the theme…so all looks as it should as far as I can tell…I did upload the original/default file by downloading the child theme again and extracting the styles.css file from the zip file.

    Thanks!
