    Hi,

i discovered that paypal buttons were causing cart and checkout pages to get stuck loading, after a long time pages would load but without paypal buttons. This would happen occassionaly, some time it would work fast and fine, mainly it would happen on mobile, but few times got it happen on desktop as well. I couldn’t really figure out the reason, but it’s a big issue so i deactivated the plugin last night.

I’m happy to reactivate if you want me to run some tests etc.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @donlee101

Our plugin has been optimized to limit the size and amount of time the scripts take to load. However, our plugin is dependent on the www.paypal.com/sdk script from PayPal. If they were experiencing any performance issues on their end that could be the reason.

I’m happy to reactivate if you want me to run some tests etc.

Yes, please enable our PayPal plugin so we can review. This isn’t a common issue we encounter with our plugin.

    Kind Regards

    Hi @donlee101

I tested your site and the PayPal plugin scripts were loading quickly. So as you have stated it seems intermittent. It could be related to the CDN that PayPal uses being refreshed at some point.

We are working on an update to the PayPal plugin where you can choose to use the Place Order button on the checkout page rather than the PayPal buttons, which means no external scripts are loaded from PayPal.

You can create a support ticket here if you would like early access to that feature.

    Kind Regards

Version 1.0.38 released where you can use the Place Order button instead of the PayPal buttons on your checkout page. This results in faster page loads since the PayPal JS dependency isn’t needed.
