issue with backlinks

    Hi hope someone can help – I am leaving backlinks on blogs and I am totally new to this – only just launched my first site uk-digital-piano.com – so this is not directly a wordpress issue but closely related

    I leave the code My cool site
    for my backlink
    but when i save it loses the link but and just leaves the My cool site bit
    in other words the link just disappears ??
    the ”My Cool Site” looks like a link but no hand to click through and the HTML link actually just . You just get the cursor and no hand

    I am very new to this and its driving me totally mad – please can someone help

    just in case the code above does the same thing (which it does when I leave it in blogs) i’ll just say the <a href></a> bit just disappears

  • You might have missed something in your learning as this is exactly what you want to happen. The a href allows you to create an anchor for your keyword which points directly to your site.
    This in turn helps the search engines associate your site with a word or phrase known as your keyword.

    So keep on doing what your doing here

    The thing is though that when im leaving the href code on blogs it just drops off. Ill give you the link to a blog where I left a comment – its craig7272. you can see Yamaha-digital-piano as a link but when you hover your mouse it just highlights – then if you check the source code you can see just the anchor text the href just drops off immedately after hitting reply – even before moderation . I spent a whole weekend leaving links and every one of them did this. Its driving me mental.
