    Hello,

I’m encountering an issue when trying to add multiple recipients in the email settings of Woocommerce

The error I see in my email logs is:
“You must provide at least one recipient email address.”

When there’s only one recipient, everything works perfectly.

I double-checked the recipient field, and the email addresses are separated by a single comma with no spaces, as asked next to the field : [email protected],[email protected]

Does anyone have an idea of what might be causing this issue?

Thanks in advance for your help!

    Best regards,

    Hi @yannadveo

Thanks for reaching out and sharing your experience. The format for multiple recipients under WooCommerce > Settings > Email should be with a space after the comma: “[email protected], [email protected]”.

Could you please adjust it to this format, and let me know if it solves the issue? If you’re still running into the error after this change, double-check for any additional hidden spaces before or after the email addresses and make sure all email addresses are accurate and working.

It would also be helpful to know your WooCommerce version and if all your plugins are up to date. If you’re willing, a screenshot of the email settings and error would be great for further investigation. You can use a service like https://snipboard.io/

    Looking forward to your response.

    Hello @reynierc
    Thanks for your feedback

I tried with the space nothing changed

Here are the screens for the email setting and the error I got
    https://snipboard.io/U4negz.jpg
    https://snipboard.io/KP2IVC.jpg

I retried to be sure and these two mails works individually
It’s only when there is two mails in the recipients field that the issue occures

My version of Woocommerce is 9.5.1
I have plugin to update like : Elementor, JetEngine, Humming bird
But nothing directly related to the mails, these are up to date

Thanks a lot for you help!
    Have a nice day

    Hi @yannadveo,

Thank you for providing the screenshot and additional details. Can you confirm whether you’re working on a localhost or a live host? Also, could you verify if the domain name of the website on the live host matches the in the recipient emails?

For example, if your website’s domain is example.ch, are the recipient emails (like [email protected] or [email protected]) using the same domain as the website?

I look forward to your response.

    Hello @mosesmedh
    Thank’s for you answer !

I’ve been testing the issue on both localhost and live host environments to check for any differences.
As required by the plugin, the sender email uses the same domain name.

For the recipients, I’ve been using the same email as the sender and a Gmail address.
However, when I add only one recipient, it works fine—any email works as long as there’s just one recipient. The issue arises only when I add a second recipient.

As mentioned in my previous response, I’ve tried the following:
    – Using a comma without any space between the email addresses.
    – Using a comma with a space right after.

As shown in my second screenshot, it’s strange to see the error message:
“You must provide at least one recipient email address.”
Meanwhile, right above the recipient line, the two emails I entered are clearly displayed.

    Thanks for your help
    Best regards,
    Yann

    Hi @yannadveo,

Thanks for sharing the details of your issue! The behavior you’re experiencing does seem unusual, especially since single recipient emails are working as expected.

It’s possible that the issue might be related to server-side restrictions. Some hosting providers place limits on the number of recipients allowed in an email to prevent potential misuse or spam, which might cause errors like “You must provide at least one recipient email address.”

I recommend reaching out to your hosting provider to confirm if there are any restrictions on the number of recipients allowed per email. Once they confirm there are no issues on their end, let us know, and we’ll assist you further in troubleshooting this within WooCommerce.

Looking forward to hearing back from you!
