    Hi,

Using WP 6.2.x, PHP 8.0.x and wpForo plugin.

The issue i have is that Wordfence doesn’t understand and log ANY 404 in the wpForo forums plugin. While non existent forum topics DO return a header 404 correctly.

Wordfence understand and log 404 correctly in ALL other pages of WordPress, including blog posts.

I have checked several times and with several ways that wpForo plugin CORRECTLY returns a 404 header, so this is an issue with Wordfence.

    Thanks

Hello @dimalifragis and thanks for reaching out to us!

I would like to look more into this issue.

Can you send a diagnostic report to wftest @ wordfence . com? You can find the link to do so at the top of the Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostics page. Then click on “Send Report by Email”. Please add your forum username where indicated and respond here after you have sent it.

NOTE: It should look as follows – Screenshot of Tools > Diagnostic > Send by Email

    Thanks again!

I have checked this issue with an other plugin we have, a knowledge base one with custom post types, and 404 is recognized and logged right with Wordfence.

So this is an issue with wpForo that doesn’t use Custom Posts, but its own “types/fomat” (sorry i don’t know the word of it), his own tables etc etc.

I opened a topic to their forums and they replied that they don’t have the time to understand what is going on.

If the 404 is not covered by Wordfence within wpForo area, that could mean also that all wpForo topics/posts are not protected by Wordfence? I guess so.

Advanced block work fine with wpForo urls, and that is a relief.

I would like to test also some kind of attack within forum urls, but i don’t know how.
