    Installed WP-Optimize and started setting up by turning on cache. Checking the site on Google page insights shows the preview as a page full of symbols and random text, not my homepage preview. I might add that it returns a mobile score of 97 and desktop score of 98. The pages seem to be working, but I fear that they are in cache and my visitors will see this weird page full of symbols and random text when the cache clears. Any suggestions on this?

    Hello

    Depending on the assets that your site uses caching can sometimes cause display discrepancies on the page speed insights preview render. It can be quite unstable when rendering previews in general. If the pages are working correctly and you have not had any reports from actual visitors I would not be concerned.

    I thought that the other day when I first activated it, left it overnight and when I checked the site the next day, the pages were the same as the insights preview, symbols and random text, no content at all. I quickly wiped the settings and deactivated the plugin. The site came back once I deactivated.

    Hi,

    Can you disable GZIP in WPO, and clear your cache.

    Also deactivate any optimizations plugins that may be using GZIP if you have any, some examples of optimisation plugins which add GZIP are;

    Add Expires Headers
    Check and Enable GZIP Compression
    Force GZIP
    Far Future Expiration
    HTTP Headers
    PageSpeed Ninja

    Again clear your cache before re-activating them

    If you don’t use such a plugin, the solution would be to find and remove these lines anywhere in your active plugins or the theme:

    ob_start( ‘ob_gzhandler’ )

    -OR-

    ob_end_flush()
