Issue on scrolling when text are selected.

First of all, thanks for reporting the issues. Regarding the “not tested with notice”, it should be resolved by now.

About the other issue, which – as far as I can see – only happens while hovering on the “visual editor”, I’m on it right now and you should read back from me in short time.

As a fallback, you could disable Nicescroll for the backend in the settings for now.
Or you could switch to the “text editor” to select long texts, since scrolling on the editor window works as expected, and then switch back (you know, the buttons “Text” and “Visual” above the editor window on the right).

I think the issue is not only on the editor and back end… have you tested also on the front end (user side) ? I have no tested this yet but maybe found the issue in a website that use your plugin.

Need test this.. i am testing right now and… the result is: I can confirm the issue is also in the website visitor side.

Thanks for reporting this. Could you please provide me with the url so I can have a look at it. For now i could reduce the issue to be only related to iFrame-Windows, hence i am curious.

I am testing here: https://www.marcoborla.it where usually i have text selection disabled for visitor side but also on the website https://www.rinolaringoiatria.com/orecchio/malattia-di-meniere-ed-idrope-endolinfatico/ (not mine – found surfing the web)

on my website i removed for now nicescroll, i will try to use when the fix will be available.. also i reactivated the protection for deny selection of the text on visitor side. Hope the fix from your plugin can be on backend and front end visitor side too.

Another important issue that let me to be unable to use your extension is this one: i use a Wacom pen tablet model CTL-470 who is quite old but maybe the issue can be present also on new pen tabled. When nicescroll is active I cannot scroll down the age with the use of the second button on the pen. With the browser scollbar all works fine, i can scroll down websites, with nicescrol active i can’t.

This will be more difficult to explain to you… Let me see how i can report to you this issue.

This is a GIF with default browser bar, with your plugin active i see the same symbol with the two arrow (mouse pointer) but the page is not moving.

The second button of the pen is set with the function of central / middle click like in this image: https://bit.ly/2EQm9fk

I am working on a fix for this. What I can definitevly do is fix the editor window on the backend. Regarding the front end, as long as there are embedded iFrames, I have no control over the mouse behaviour while the cursor is hovering an iFrame. And since these iFrames cannot reliably be detected, this cannot be automated. However there will be a text field where you can enter the ids of iFrame-Parent-Containers, so the fix would apply to these to. This maybe also fix your pen-issue.
I’ll release an update within the next few days.

I am surprise to read a fix is not possible on the front end as i see this issue on my website but also on external website that are using your plugin. All themes has iframe on page content?

I hope you are well !

I’m a fan of your plugin but still be not able to see function as the standard browser bar.

As soon i install it (as today for test) I see if i select text in the back end (never tested on front end) the page doesn’t move when the text selected is out of the screen.

Also i use a pen (Wacom) and when i press one of the button for scroll down the page this is not working. I think the pen use the click mouse wheel

Thanks for your time and feedback. I really need to get a hold of such a board and pen in order to solve this issue.
Make sure that the setting for “Preserve Native Scrolling” is set to “true”, and try “Prevent Multitouch Scrolling” with a setting of “false” a try, please.

I’ll grab a board from ebay in the meantime…

I have issue also with mouse not only with pen.
You know mouse has the mouse wheel, keeping this on hold reproduce what you will see in the video also if the video has been done with the pen. I have also the mouse connected to the PC and the issue is the same.

Also i tried to select text and the page is not scrolling this also with the mouse.
I will try to do another video about this.

Tested the settings you suggested but is not helping.
You have not to buy a pen board just for my bug or issue report ??
WOW text select page scrolling is working if the scroll is from top to down but not from down to top.

Seems the plugin is improving ??
