Hi, I have this problem on two stores. Both stores sell digital products. The products are downloadable, some are not but they are always flagged as “Virtual”. In the WooCommerce settings the checkbox “Disable shipping and related calculation” is selected. Why are they sent on PayPal as physical orders and the customer has to log into the PayPal account every day and declare them as “shipped” without providing the tracking code? Why did this not happen with the old plugin (now discontinued)? Is there anything to change?

    Hi @vitorams,

When the order contains any non-virtual products, shipping details are sent to PayPal. But when there are only virtual products, then there shouldn’t be any shipping available at PayPal for this order. Whether or not the product is digital doesn’t make a difference in that regard.
Can you confirm all of the products are virtual but there is still shipping sent to PayPal?
Could you maybe provide a link to an example product? Thanks!

    Kind regards,
    Niklas

I confirm that all products have the “Virtual” flag. This is an example product: https://www.softwaredigitali.com/prodotto/adobe-xd-2022/

On the customer’s site I also removed all the shipping fields in the checkout via Hook, leaving only Name, Surname, Email, Telephone.

I add that the problem persists even if the products in addition to being virtual offer instant download.

After 1000 orders with virtual and downloadable attributes the problem still persists …

    Hi @vitorams,

Apologies for getting back to you just now.
The “Virtual” checkbox in the product is the most important one in this regard. Once this is checked, PayPal Payments should ditch all shipping for this product in any case.
I’m not aware of any other reports of this kind, so a local conflict seems to be the most likely explanation.
You may want to perform a full conflict test to rule out eventual issues with the theme or a different plugin. On a staging site, we recommend temporarily activating the default theme Storefront and disabling all other plugins except for?WooCommerce and?PayPal Payments to see if the behavior persists.

Here’s a guide that explains the steps in more detail:
    How to test for conflicts
Please let us know if the behavior persists for you in the minimum configuration. Thanks!

    Kind regards,
    Niklas
