Hi.? I’m desperately looking for a way to keep image media files out of search results in my wordpress website.? I’ve got a plugin to supposedly eliminate attachment pages; however, they still come up in a search, and when clicked on, the image media pops up instead of the attachment page, and starts an unwanted “gallery”.? I don’t want media showing up like that as individual loose items.? For example, if I now search for “noto” (without the quotes”, it brings up the attachment page in the search results, identified in the results with the title of the media image “Notocactus Uebelmannianus” and then the name repeated again in text below it: Notocactus Uebelmannianus — and then when that is clicked on, the media pops up in a slider gallery; I don’t want this. I only want visitors to find POSTS and PAGES when they search. I want media excluded completely from search results.

I have 1000+ images on my site, it’s for plants, and I don’t want 1000 “error” or “oops” pages replacing the images of the attachment pages.

I’m wondering if I could somehow “isolate” all images in a folder of their own using Filebird… and THEN, I have no idea how to do this, but somehow target that image folder to NOT allow its contents to show up in search results.? I’m a blogger, not a developer; but it seems I never get time to blog, I’m always trying to fix things instead.? Thanks in advance if you have any ideas.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @kmp2,

    Thanks for coming here today!

I totally understand your plights, sometimes there is a lot to fix than to update on the web ;), but I’m sorry that we might not be able to help in this case since our plugin only works mainly as a backend file organization tool.

It does not have the feature to restrict website searches. I think you should search Google and YouTube for a plugin that could do that for, there is a high chance you’d get one out there for sure.

    Regards,

You know, I just realized that something weird is going on with my website. I have others with lots of images, the attachment pages don’t show up in a search on these other sites, nor do the images themselves.

Perhaps the fact they’re showing up (unwanted) in this one site is due to another plugin or an earlier version of wordpress. I seem to have a headache ahead of me to try to test and solve this problem.

Thank you for your time, I appreciate it.
