ISO Simple SEO Plugin

  • I’m looking for a very simple SEO plugin. One that will, in a plain, user-friendly way, allow me to add an overall site meta description, site meta keywords as well as descriptions and keywords for individual pages/posts.

    Yoast SEO used to be that. It no longer is. I’ve tried countless others – All-in-One, RankMath, The SEO Framework and a few others. None are what I’m looking for. All are far too complex with too much unnecessary crud and none are overly user-friendly.

    Useful suggestions appreciated.

    As noted in my original post, I had been using Yoast. It was fine but it became far too complex and it was virtually impossible to satisfy its criteria for proper SEO.

    I shelved plugins for a while and just hardcoded a meta description & keywords into the header.php file, but when the theme is updated those get blown away.

    I think I may have found one that does what I want.

    SEOPress seems to do what I’m looking for and allows me to simply input meta descriptions and keywords for posts and pages. It seems to use the meta description for the home page as the overall site meta description which should be fine.
