My Wordfence scan of YOP Poll is alerting me to a discrepancy between my copy of YOP Poll and the copy in the WordPress repository. The file is wp-content/plugins/yop-poll/js/yop-poll-modal-functions.js, and the difference is this line in my installation, which apparently does not appear in the repository version of the file:

    ‘console.log( response );’

I am running vs. 5.7.8 of YOP Poll. Is the above line supposed to be in this file? If so, can you please update the copy in the WordPress repository?

Would really appreciate a response on whether it makes sense for this line of code (see prior post) to be in this plugin. Wordfence is still flagging it as suspect in the daily scan, and I haven’t been able to find any other discussion of it, which makes me think it really is infected, or wouldn’t a lot of other people be posting the same question? I have also tried searching on the line of code itself to see if I could understand what it does, but couldn’t find an explanation in language that is friendly to people who don’t know php.

    Hello

To answer your question, yes the line of code you are referring to was part of the plugin.
    It was used for debugging.

So you are safe to run the plugin without that line of code.

Next version released will fix this so you don’t get any more warnings.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

    Best
