Is WP User Avatar maintained or not?

Of course, it is maintained. It is actually tested up to 5.6. I made a mistake reverting it to 5.5 in the last update 4 days ago.

Basically, it’s not. A lot of people are complaining about not seeing the upload field for avatars, which makes the plugin all but useless. Instead of engaging and trying to find the problem, the maintainers are ignoring the problem while saying ‘It’s working for me’. If multiple people on different parts of the globe are notifying you of a problem the chances that it’s not a real problem diminish rapidly.

Combine that with a security issue (subscribers being allowed to add draft posts), and I beg to differ.

@jberculo we released an update yesterday I think that fixed the issue.

Upgrade to the latest version and let me know if that fixes the issue for you.

Fixes what issue? I’ve got multiple.

Secondly the issue with users not being able to actually upload an avatar due to the field missing. I wrote a forum entry about it, but that one seems to just have vanished without an answer.

I took a look at your release notes, and not a word on both issues. You could at least acknowledge that you read the issues instead of just ignoring them and then claim that ‘it’ is fixed.
