• Hello!

I first installed WP 2.2 for my blog at https://www.mynameinarabic.com , tested it and all, but then decided to unlink my domain name from my hosting account at Globat, and use Blogspot instead and have my blog hosted by them [since I basically started my blog there: https://www.mynameinarabic.blogspot.com ].

My problem is that I removed WP, and forwarded my blogspot blog to the supposed ’empty’ domain name, but I still see that directory thing on the homepage. I waited for 48 hours thinking that it was just a DNS matter, but this didn’t work.

Is WP the problem or something else?

    Thanks!
[PS: I am a newbie to all these stuff…]

  • I’m no expert, but I fail to see how that could be caused by WP since the directory listing doesn’t even show any WP files.

    And by the way…

forwarded my blogspot blog to the supposed ’empty’ domain name

Should be the other way around?

Since I think I’ve done everything else correctly, I thought maybe I didn’t remove WP completely, hence the directory.

It’s on Blogspot that you put the domain name you want to forward the blog to.

Its something to do with the DNS settings, more info here:

It varies from registrar to registrar, but you’ll need to ask your registrar how to do it.

I followed the instructions given there, but I now see that I still have Globat’s DNS when I check whois information. I don’t know how nor where to change that! I am totally clueless.

So, why don’t you click on the link offered in that tutorial???

I’ve done that moshu, but I’ll go double check everything for the Nth time, it’s highly probable that I missed something.

Thank you guys! I’ll let you know how this goes!

I checked everything DNS related, double checked, swore at it, but in vain. It looks correct.
Any idea why I have a Gloabt IP when I check my whois information while the website is not hosted there?

    No.
And all these questions have nothing to do with WordPress. So, please, take your questions to your registrar or where they belong.

    Sure, thank you!
