• Dear forum, I didn’t know where else to ask, so I’ll do it here. I’ve started getting into WordPress about a month ago and am quickly falling in love with it.

However there are a few things that worry me. I’d like to make website as user friendly as possible for my admins, who often have no IT experience. Although it’s true that WordPress allows me to easily add posts, add widgets etc. I fear that my clients may not want to invest the same kind of effort learning how to deal with the admin page.

I would things like this to be possible:
“When logged in as an admin, once hovering over a textfield, it will get a red border. When clicked on, the textfield can be edited and saved. Now showing the updated field.”

I’ve been struggling to find the right words to search for via Google. Is it possible for WordPress to allow me to do things like this? Or is the user always required to access the Admin page when wanting to change something?

    Hi Altaranalt,

WordPress is slightly tricky at first but given a few hours (or days) anyone can learn how to work with it. Like anything in this life, if you want it badly enough, you will work for it ??

I am unaware of any plugin that allows you to make changes to your site without logging into it. Unfortunately, your clients will have to learn how to navigate the admin side of things.

If you want, you can provide a slight “crash course” on how to work with their new sites.

I hope I have at least helped in some way.

    Have a great day!

Yeah WordPress can definitely be tricky for some users at the start. But if I have understood correctly, from what you described, it sounds like you are wanting something with a front end editor. There are plugins, like this one, that may help. However would require some testing.

    All the best.

Also not saying this is what you are looking for, but check out the platform SquareSpace. After thinking about it, I think that may be similar to what your looking for.
