• I love my photography and have posted my pictures on bloodspot in the past. I wanted it to look better and have more features and went ahead and installed world press on a domain. My audience is to personal friends and selected groups not the general public. After spending a day reading I have been overwhelmed with jargon and ideas and am now quite confused.

I do not write code at all. Can someone help me by telling me if I will be able to set up a quality photo blog here and use it easily for my pictures and the comments that go under them them.

I am hoping to find a mentor so I can keep learning. With the serious brain injury several years ago most learning and comprehension takes longer and needs more guidance.

    Thanks

Your site’s “here” is at the servers at whatever host you have chosen, and the first thing you should do is to learn a little about security. So, go to your Dashboard > Settings > General and un-check “Anyone can register”, and you might also look near there for your Comments settings. Overall, it is up to you to help protect your site, and here are some additional basics:

Spend some time looking for a theme that will display your content as you wish, and also do a little checking to see how it displays in the various browsers and on the devices your friends and others will be using at your site. Each theme and plugin you can get from here has its own Support Forum, and that can be a helpful place while making a selection.

    Thanks …great info. ??

A bit more on the basic request.

Do I need to be able to write in code?

There are some things you will likely need or want to copy-and-paste into place (such as to “Harden WordPress”, for example), but no, you should never have to actually originate any code. Almost any theme can be modified and you might later decide to do a bit of that in a Child Theme, but even that has only ever been copy-and-paste for me. Just take your time finding a theme that can *do* what you want (function), then later you can learn to style it a bit such as changing some colors or fonts and such.
