is wordpress broken?

    when I updated to 2.6.5 the footer said YOU ARE USING A DEV VERSION, something like that instead of just the VERSION 2.6.5

    Now 2.7 RC1 comes and I am not getting any message about my 2.6.5 being out of date and need to update (which is technically true)…..
