    Hello,

Can you confirm that no other WordPress cache plugin can be as fast as using Varnish ?

And when a website is hosted on a dreamhost dedicated server, how to start using Varnish ? If it’s too complicated, where to find someone to install Varnish cache for me ?

    Thank you for your help.

I cannot reasonably confirm that any one caching tool is faster than ALL others. Varnish is one of many options, it’s not perfect but it does work well for many people. It certainly can be fast and make your site run fast.

If you’re on DreamHost, we offer a hosting plan for DreamPress which comes with Varnish installed and configured for you. Otherwise, no matter your host, you would be responsible for hiring a sysadmin to install it for you.

Thank you, but I am surprised, why trying to deal with more problems if Varnish is not a lot faster than any Wwordpress cache plugin ?

Also, I have found that Woocommerce stores have problems with Varnish on Dreampress, and it seems that only Cloudways was able to fix these problems. So until Dreamhost confirms that it is ok to host Woocommerce on Dreampress, it is not possible to use Varnish.

That’s a VERY philosophical question you’re asking. Like … why make another car if there’s already one?

The simplest answer is that different cache products have different strengths and weaknesses. You pick the one that works best for your specific setup.

You can totally use WooCommerce on DreamPress. It’s okay to host it and if you have issues, you can just ask the tech support for help. They actually do know how to help you debug that. I don’t know where you’re getting your information that it doesn’t work, but you’re incorrect.
