• A site with 4 different locations, for example:

    – London
    – Cambridge
    – Manchester
    – Briton
Once the user click on any of them, a new menu will appear:

    – Cars
    – Tvs
    – Trains
    – Ships

So if I click in first in “Briton” and then in “Cars”, the page should only show the posts with the category “cars” which are in “Briton”.

Is this possible at all with wordpress? Or its not designed to deal with this kind of problems in which the same menu can be used for multiple different contents?

I’ve been playing a bit with menus and taxonomies, but not sure if its even possible of this is the way to deal with it.

  • Maybe make a menu with London, Cambridge, Manchester and Briton each a parent page with its own set of Cars, Tvs, Trains and Ships as children, then post to each of those sixteen child pages.

Thanks for the answer, but more than just a “page”, in each of those sections I could have posts.

    Is that possible?

Yes, by using categories. I have yet to ever try that, but I do plan to do so:

@leejosepho, the problem is. The categories would be “Cars, Tvs, Trains..” and if I filter by category, all the posts will be shown for “Cars”, for example, without taking into consideration its parent page, “London”.

Are you talking about creating as many menus as different locations I have?
So, 4 menus linking to 16 different categories ( 4 categories in each menu)?

So I would have categories like:
    – Cars-London
    – Cars-Cambridge
    – Cars-Manchester
    – Cars-Briton

    – Tvs-London
    – Tvs-Cambridge
    – Tvs-Manchester
    – Tvs-Briton

    etc.

And 4 different menus with exactly the same content “Cars, Tvs, Trains, Ships”, but linking to different categories depending on the parent menu?

It doesn’t look very ideal to me…

if I filter by category, all the posts will be shown for “Cars”, for example, without taking into consideration its parent page, “London”.

Look a bit more closely at the results of that Google search link. The subject there is about how to post to more than one page…and it is possible to use categories such as “London Cars” and Cambridge Cars” to arrange things as you want them.

    Right, I got it.
Sections can have subsections. Thanks for it.

Now trying to think how to create the menus for them…
How to show the submenus inside a menu page.

Thanks, I got it. Categories can have subcategories.

Now I’m trying to figure out how to show the submenu once the user clicks on the main menu “Cambridge”.

I did not look at any of these, but maybe this will help:
