This hasn’t been updated in two years – is this plugin still maintained?

Curious about the Pro version, but seeing how long it’s been since the lite version was updated doesn’t give me much faith.

Can you please let me know why this is so outdated? Thanks!

  • Hey @earthman100,

Thanks for reaching out and checking in on the status of this plugin.

I’m pleased to let you know that even though we have not released updates in a while, we are actively maintaining and refactoring the plugin behind the scenes and you can expect a new release sometime soon.

Did you bump into any trouble with the Lite version? Please let me know and I will gladly help.

    Thanks.

We haven’t heard back from you in about a few days, so I’m going to go ahead and close this thread for now. But if you’d like us to assist further, please feel welcome to continue the conversation (please just see my post above).

Hi Mike, thanks for the follow up. I gave it a try, but it didn’t suit my needs. Cheers!

Hi there! Are you saying that it’s being rebuilt currently? I’ve noticed that is has been removed from almost all of the new owner’s “Other Brands” sections across the various website. This all gives it the feel that it is being pushed to the side and not growing. I’m 100% for the plugin growing and would love to see it reach it’s full potential. But I’m lacking confidence at this time. Any specific updates that you can give out? Thanks!

    Hey @jamzth,

Thank you for contacting us, we’re happy to help out!

We’re truly sorry for the delay in releasing updates for Sugar Calendar. We know how much you rely on us, and it pains us to think we might have let you down in delivering the updates within a reasonable timeframe.

Our goal is to revamp this plugin, but we want to ensure we adhere to our core values and fight for customers’ success by providing a world-class product. Because of this, we have been reviewing all code and features and analyzing what should best help our customers.

We are currently analyzing the best path forward, which may be to fix or add new features or possibly refactor the entire plugin to make it more robust and extendable for the future. Again, I don’t have exact dates, but I can assure you we are actively having these discussions internally.

Hopefully, in the near future, we should be coming up with more clarity on this and update our customers.

We genuinely appreciate your patience and understanding during this period. We understand that time is of the essence for you, and we deeply regret any inconvenience caused. We are committed to informing you about our progress and ensuring a seamless customer experience.

Could you please let me know if you have any additional questions?

    Thanks.

    Thanks @mkipruto,

I appreciate the lengthy response. Unfortunately, the other plugins in the Sandhills Dev purchase from Awesome Motive have all received an extreme amount of attention and promotion over and above Sugar Calendar. It’s just a little sad that the same attention hasn’t been devoted towards a needed market for SMBs and agencies.

It gives the impression that this plugin is dead or dying. Hopefully, we don’t have to wait another two years for the decisions to be made to make this the best calendar, events, and ticketing plugin in the market. It has the potential for sure. And I know that the Sugar Calendar team can do it!

    Hey @jamzth,

We appreciate you taking the time to provide feedback, and I’ve shared your thoughts with our team. It’s always helpful to get details like this.

If I can help with anything else, please let me know. Thanks!

Sure appears to be dead. Nothing but wishful thinking replies even though the company is still selling the ‘pro’ version of an obsolete plugin that no longer works.
