Is this plugin GDPR compliant?

    Hi,

    I’m testing the plugin and I’m a bit confused. Maybe I’m missing something but it seems that all users subscribe to the newsletter without even informing them about it.

    Is this correct? Is this compliant with the GDPR? Shouldn’t users give their consent to subscribe? As far I know, users should be allowed to choose if they want to subscribe or not.

    Can someone help me with this, please?

    Yes this is correct, contacts should give consent before they are subscribed.

    Would you mind letting me know how you are collecting your contacts? Is it with WooCommerce or WordPress forms or another method?

    Hi! I’m using WooCommerce.

    Hi,

    I am having exactly the same issue. ALL USERS are being added to my list after a completed order even though OPTIN box is unticked by default.

    I’ve contacted Sendinblue support about this issue but they were unable to help

    Using our WooCommerce plugin, you should ensure that the opt-in field is displayed at checkout so that your customers can choose whether or not to subscribe to your communications.

    The “Opt-in Checkbox Default Status” should be unchecked in order to be GDPR compliant.

    Is there any way to add a “tag” to every new subscriber so I can know that it comes from WooCommerce?

    Hi @axsu !

    We do not currently support contact tagging. However, these contacts will be synced to a specific list.

    It would also be possible to use automation to update a contact attribute to easily identify that contacts have come via WooCommerce. I will pop some articles below but please feel free to reach out to us at contact@sendinblue, for advice specific to your account ??
