• This plugin has not been updated in 2 years, has it been abandoned?
If not, then it needs updating as Wordfence is giving security warnings.

No, it is not. The plugin hasn’t been updated because no problem was reported.

Plugins need to tested with each new version of wordpress and set as “compatible” if no updates are required. If you do not do this it is listed as “not tested with the current version of wordpress” as well as being flagged as abandoned by security plugins like Wordfence which check the last updated.

You absolutely should not be just waiting until it breaks someones site or someone reports an issue before you bother to check or update it.

Checking for compatibility should be done pro-actively not re-actively.
